Price per mg: how to compare peptide vial sizes
Updated October 21, 2026
Price per milligram is the price of a vial divided by its labeled amount in milligrams. A $60 vial labeled 10 mg is $6.00 per mg. Use it to compare sizes and sellers on the same footing, then adjust for shipping and for what the lab report says is really in the vial.
For research use only. This guide explains laboratory documents. It is not medical advice and says nothing about using any compound.
The basic sum
Divide the price by the labeled milligrams. For a pack, divide the pack price by the total milligrams across every vial in it. Larger vials and multi-packs usually cost less per milligram, but not always, so do the sum rather than assume.
Add shipping to the comparison
A low price per mg can disappear once shipping is added, especially on a single small vial. For a fair comparison, add the shipping you would pay to the order total and divide by the total milligrams in the order.
Labeled mg vs measured mg
The label states an amount. A lab report's net content result says how much was measured. If a 10 mg vial measured 9 mg, the price per measured milligram is about 11% higher than the label suggests. Where a report gives net content, it is the better figure to divide by.
Compare like with like
Only compare the same compound, and check the reports cover the same strength you are pricing. A low price per mg on a product with no report for that lot isn't a like-for-like comparison.
Common questions
How do I calculate price per mg for a peptide?
Divide the price by the labeled milligrams. A $90 vial labeled 30 mg is $3.00 per mg.
Is a bigger vial always cheaper per mg?
Usually, not always. Work it out for each size, and include shipping.
